While you will be spoilt for choice in Central London, these are a few of our personal favourite dining establishments and historic pubs in and around the neighbourhoods we call home.

Mayfair Restaurants

• North Audley Street, in Mayfair near Marble Arch, is a big food hub. It does get crowded. The Mayfair Chippy is the famous one there, as well as Mercato Mayfair (a food court inside a Victorian converted church).
• Dunhill Bourdon House is a gem — just opposite our Mayfair home, a great venue with a nice small bar in the courtyard and downstairs. Serving drinks and food until 6pm. A well-kept Mayfair secret — an exceptionally welcoming spot with a private club atmosphere that remains wonderfully accessible. Open for all until 6pm, and is rarely crowded.
• L’Escargot — in Soho, the oldest French restaurant in London. Thoroughly recommended.
• Delfino Mayfair — the best pizza in Mayfair since 1953, and other Italian dishes, takeaway too.
• Guinea Grill — pub and restaurant just 1 minute from our Mayfair home, the oldest inn in Mayfair and probably in London. Expensive for a pub, but a divine place for meat lovers.
• Scott's — fantastic seafood restaurant on the iconic Mount Street, just 2 min walk from our Mayfair home.
• Jamavar — Indian. This and the next two places are run by the same owners, stylish and with good food.
• Bombay Bustle — Indian
• Mimi Mei Feir — upscale Chinese. But for a great variety of Chinese dishes, of course go to Chinatown.
• HIDE — a very nice bar & restaurant near Green Park tube on Piccadilly. The French Toast is a must! The restaurant is affiliated with Hedonism Wines shop — world’s most talked about wine shop with a very eccentric owner (just across from our Mayfair home).
• Mr Fogg's Residence — eccentric cocktail place (they have several other locations too).
• Bacchanalia — just across from or Mayfair home, this is one of the most breathtaking dining rooms in London. Expect flamboyant, Greco-Roman decor and an exclusive atmosphere — dress to impress, as trainers are strictly prohibited!

Fitzrovia & Marylebone Restaurants

• Circolo Popolare — A breathtakingly designed space, featuring highly recommended, authentic Italian maximalism. Booking well in advance is essential.
• Clipstone — fresh seasonal dishes, predominantly British ingredients, relaxed.
• Berners Tavern — great interiors, good British food. Booking recommended.
• Flesh & Buns — a great Japanese place, beyond sushi.
• Marylebone High Street has many nice restaurants and cafes.
• Cord by Le Cordon Bleu | cordrestaurant.co.uk — fine dining at its best.

Pubs in Mayfair

• The Audley — a great traditional pub on Mount Street in Mayfair
• The Footman  — Charles Street in Mayfair
• Windmill — good food, near Regent Street in Mayfair
• The Punchbowl — posh pub in Mayfair
• Coach & Horses — just off New Bond Street in Mayfair, mock-Tudor, less food, more ales.

Pubs in Fitzrovia & Marylebone

• Lore of the Land — Guy Ritchie's pub. Highly recommended and has great food (book for a meal). Just a minute walk from our Fitzrovia home.
  
• The Fitzroy Tavern — hence the area name Fitzrovia.
• The George — a popular 18th century pub in Fitzrovia.
• The Ship — a nautical themed pub in Fitzrovia.
• The Wigmore — a beautiful pub in Fitzrovia.
• The King's Head — a traditional pub in Marylebone.

Pubs in Paddington

• The Cleveland Arms — a traditional and cosy pub with some good food, just a short walk from our Paddington home.
• Mitre Lancaster Gate — a great traditional pub.
• Prince Alfred — traditional Victorian pub with some live music.
